Amaravati MakerFaire

It all started with a discussion on how an exhibition should be conducted. We were searching for themes. We were three of us that day! Kavya of IB Hubs, Prashant, a manager whom I had entrusted the student events with, and myself.

Kavya came up with the idea of Maker Faire, that she learnt something like this was conducted in Bangalore. We immediately browsed through the net. All of us said an immediate yes to the event. Kavya filed an application for the license. After a month, we got a mail that we have to face an interview. And then Kavya, Prashanth and Saugat, another consultant who just joined us at APIS faced the interview and we got the license for one year. Teja joined the activity after both Prashant and Saugat left mid-way. He worked very hard to push it through and saw that the event was successful..

After getting the necessary approvals from the government, we rolled put the call for participation and there was huge response. We had to restrict the exhibits because of space limitations. Sidhartha College management were very helpful in offering their ground for three days, and the class rooms for conduction of the workshop.

Thanks to all the ministers and local leaders in government who spared their time to encourage the participants with their presence.
